Resilient Coders is a registered 501(c)(3) organization training underrepresented talent for careers as software engineers.
The fellows are recruited from Boston, Philly, NYC, and neighboring cities, through a competitive process (about 11% acceptance rate), and they receive a rigorous 18-week full-stack engineering fellowship with project milestones every three weeks to measure job readiness.
Those who successfully complete the program begin their job search while preparing for the modern AI-workplace. The next phase of their training is the AI fellowship (2027), which deepens their tech stack, including evaluating AI models, training, and experimentation, as well as AI tools / integrations, and collaborating as an engineering team to ship a fully functional product.
More than 120 companies have hired from Resilient Coders, among them AirBnB, Audible, athenahealth, CarGurus, DraftKings, and HubSpot. Whether you are interested in hiring, mentoring, or being a community partner, Interview Days are a great way to get involved with a strong community of engineers.
The software engineers participating span experience levels, from emerging talent to mid level professionals. Backgrounds include veterans, project managers, teachers, and more. Bringing their perspective, adaptability, and real-world experience into engineering teams.
All have been recruited, vetted, and are currently enrolled in our core-engineering program. By the time they complete the fellowship, they will demonstrate proficiency in modern javascript, Node, Express, Postgres, Jest, and React. They will also be equipped with experience in working with complex API's, User Authentication, MongoDB, React Native, OOP, Algorithmic Thinking, and they have submitted too many PRs to count!
They also have received professional development workshops, and experience collaborating as a real engineering team.
Pairing is guided by the information and preferences shared during signup. Organizations that are actively hiring are encouraged to share additional context directly with our partnerships team: partnerships@resilientcoders.org.
Both events kick off at 5pm and are about 3 hours each, plus an hour to prepare and review the fellows links (resumes, LinkedIn, Github, etc).
Experience-based rounds last 40-minutes each.
Technical coding challenges last 60-minutes each.
These events are designed to mirror real hiring conversations, so while prompts and guidance are provided, interview styles naturally vary across roles and organizations. Interviewers are encouraged to draw from their professional experience and use approaches that reflect real-world interview environments.
Experience-based questions (behavioral/personality) typically focus on how engineers communicate, make decisions, and collaborate, drawing from real past work examples rather than hypothetical scenarios.
Technical interview sessions center on collaborative problem-solving and reasoning. Engineers work through coding challenges, with an emphasis on approach, clarity of thought, and technical communication rather than arriving at a single “correct” solution.
This event is designed for technology professionals with experience hiring or who have been part of the interview process within their organizations. Interviewers typically have 5+ years of working experience in software engineering, engineering leadership, product, or related technical roles, and are comfortable facilitating interview conversations that reflect these phases in the hiring process.
The technical stack varies by experience level, with a shared foundation in object-oriented programming principles and full-stack development. Engineers regularly work with JavaScript (vanilla and modern frameworks), Node.js, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, building both simple and complex APIs, writing unit tests, and developing in team-based sprint environments. More seasoned engineers often deepen expertise across additional languages and frameworks such as Angular, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails, SQL, and cloud-based web services.
Interviewers should have access to a laptop or desktop computer with mic and camera access. A few days before the event, fellows professional links will be shared for review and preparation (LinkedIn, Resume, and Github).
You are expected to join us for the duration of the event, and conduct the interview rounds for each fellow.
There is no grading criteria, but you are more than welcome to take notes to discuss at the end or to share via email. Remember, these events are designed to mirror real hiring conversations and offer fellows a rare opportunity to receive feedback.
We understand life happens, so if anything changes and you're no longer able to make it, please let us know as early as possible so we can work together on finding a replacement.
Of course!
You can book a time with Stephanie, who leads our partnerships with mentors, employers, and community allies.
