The software engineers participating span experience levels, from emerging talent to mid-senior level professionals. All have been recruited, vetted, and trained through a competitive process and are part of our decade-long talent network.
Backgrounds include veterans, project managers, designers, sales, education, and more. Bringing their perspective, adaptability, and real-world experience into engineering teams. They are also actively integrating AI tools into their development workflows for code generation, debugging, documentation, testing, and system design.
More than 120 companies have hired from this network, among them Audible, athenahealth, CarGurus, DraftKings, and HubSpot.
Pairing is guided by the information and preferences shared during signup. Organizations that are actively hiring are encouraged to share additional context directly with our partnerships team: partnerships@resilientcoders.org.
Experience-based interviews run for 2 hours total, and have two 40-minute individual interview sessions.
Technical coding challenges run for 3 hours total, and have two 60-minute individual interview sessions.
Both formats begin with 30 minutes of open networking.
These events are designed to mirror real hiring conversations, so while prompts and guidance are provided, interview styles naturally vary across roles and organizations. Interviewers are encouraged to draw from their professional experience and use approaches that reflect real-world interview environments.
Experience-based questions (behavioral/personality) typically focus on how engineers communicate, make decisions, and collaborate, drawing from real past work examples rather than hypothetical scenarios.
Technical interview sessions center on collaborative problem-solving and reasoning. Engineers work through coding challenges, with an emphasis on approach, clarity of thought, and technical communication rather than arriving at a single “correct” solution.
This event is designed for technology professionals with experience hiring or who have been part of the interview process within their organizations. Interviewers typically have 6+ years of working experience in software engineering, engineering leadership, product, or related technical roles, and are comfortable facilitating interview conversations that reflect these phases in the hiring process.
The technical stack varies by experience level, with a shared foundation in object-oriented programming principles and full-stack development. Engineers regularly work with JavaScript (vanilla and modern frameworks), Node.js, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, building both simple and complex APIs, writing unit tests, and developing in team-based sprint environments. More seasoned engineers often deepen expertise across additional languages and frameworks such as Angular, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails, SQL, and cloud-based web services.
Across the talent network, there is a strong emphasis on AI fluency. The engineers participating in the interview events are part of our AI engineering fellowship, bringing together emerging and mid-senior engineers to collaborate and be ready to join modern AI-enabled engineering environments without sacrificing code quality. They are actively building AI-powered systems in a production-style environment, designing end-to-end applications that incorporate LLMs, structured data workflows, and real-world AI feature integration, while leveraging AI-native developer tools to move faster and iterate more effectively.
